Over the years, many of Norms’ teammates have come forward to let us know that Norm was a special hockey player, his stats, over a twenty year period put him in the point per game category of players and he was lucky enough to be signed first overall by the Winnipeg Jets in 1972, making him the “Original Jet”
Norm was a major part of the early days of the Winnipeg Jets’ history, starring on the Luxury Line with Christian Bordeleau and Bobby Hull. The Luxury Line members were the first line in pro hockey to each record over 100 points in a single season. That same year, Norm scored 13 Goals and had 15 helpers to record 28 points in the playoffs, a franchise record.
Norm capped off a stellar run with the Jets when he was an Assistant Captain in 1976, the year they won their first of three Avco Cup Championships.
